Spirographs belong to a family of curves known as hypotrochoids.
They are beautiful in their simplicity and variety. Many of you may have had a Spirograph set as a child.
Here I include images I have generated using parameteric equations (math) as well as images that are reminiscent of those created with the childhood toy.
